Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) - Change Password

Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) is a Microsoft-delivered feature that allows an enrolled user the ability to reset their own password. This document provides instructions on how to use SSPR to change your password.

Once an authentication method is registered you can reset your password even if you have forgotten your password.

Email-Captcha

  • This account in this example has multiple available authentication methods.   The recommendation is to have as many alternative authentication methods allowed.

    • The preferred authentication method is the Microsoft Authenticator app, which will provide a code when this method is selected.
    • If using a different method selected the registered method for your account, select the method that is currently available to you.

SelectMethod 

  • Create a new password and click Finish

CreatePassword

  • Successful password reset message appears

PasswordChangedSuccess

If you know your password, click the link below to change password. No additional registration authentication method required.

ChangeKnownPassword

After you change your password, you may need to wait a few minutes for it to synchronize with all of your accounts (Office 365, Western email, network user account). 

You will need to change the password, or be prompted to change it, for your mobile devices which have your Western email account.
