Run Browser in Incognito Mode or InPrivate Window

This document provides instructions on how to open some web browsers in a private mode to prevent caching of user data when using a computer, especially a shared computer.

Google Chrome:

To open an Incognito Window in Chrome, open the Chrome Menu by clicking on the 3 dots in the upper-right-hand corner of the browser window and select New Incognito Window. You can also use the shortcut Shift + ⌘ + N (on macOS), or Shift + CTRL + N (on Windows/Linux).

Microsoft Edge:

In Edge, this is called InPrivate window.  To open an InPrivate window in Edge:
