Windows 11 Settings & File Explorer
This document will go cover some of the changes with File Explorer and Settings.
Settings
- The setting page now has a left pane that includes a search bar and categories.
- The System category is selected by default when you open the settings app.
- You will see your system Name and model at the top
- Each category will have subcategories that you can click on.
- You will see your system Name and model at the top
While the Windows 11 settings app looks different, you will find all the same settings options that you had in Windows 10.
File Explorer
- File Explorer now has a tab function, similar to your web browser. Allowing for quick access to multiple tabs in the same window.
- Icons for file management have been changed.
- From left to right: Cut, Copy, Paste, Rename, Share, Delete

- Opening folders will currently open in the same window. You can change this by clicking on the three horizontal dots and selecting options.
- Select the Open each folder in its own window option.
- Select the Open each folder in its own window option.
- Right-clicking on a file will show the more common options.
- Select Show more options, to expand the right-click options.
- This will give you a Full list of all the Right-Click options.
